  • Sometimes I have a really hard time not thinking that the entire hiring process for men is really just panelists thinking:

    “Wow, he’s tall. He must know what he’s talking about. We should hire/promote him.”

    I know, I’m jaded.

  • Do I have to use my employer-sponsored FSA administrator? I get that it’s pre-tax deductions from my paycheck, but this just seems strange that I don’t have a choice. Honestly I don’t like my retirement savings administrators either.

  • Last night I found this photo from 1986 in my grandmother’s belongings. It’s of me and my brother. I’d never seen it before.

    Everyone always says how much my son looks like my wife, so I was blown away by how much I look like him here. I was just a little bit older than he is now.

    My dad left us when I was two. I feel so bad for him that he missed out on what it’s like to be a father to such an exceptional little human.

  • Now that the Big Bang Theory is drawing greater scrutiny as observations from the James Webb Space Telescope come in, what are some of the plausible alternatives?

  • I imagine for most people, watching video walking tours on YouTube is about as interesting as watching paint dry. But as a planner, they are pretty zen sometimes.

  • I wish there was a wearable activity tracker that looked more like the old Jawbones. So tired of having digital watches on my arm. I just want to wear a classic timepiece and a bracelet with no screen.

  • I don’t know that I’ll ever fully adjust to the fact that you’ve gotta reserve campsites 6 months ahead in Oregon. You just gotta chance a random weekend and hope other plans don’t come up, or better luck next year.

  • Finished The White Lotus on HBO last night. Surprisingly, it sucked me in and held my attention to the end.

    As much hate as I’m now seeing online about her, I loved the Portia character. One quote in particular caught me right in the feels. 1/2

  • Power went out last night, so I woke up trying to suck air through a CPAP hose that wasn’t providing me with air. The whole house got bad sleep because of it. I would be married with kids without my sleep machine, true story.

  • At the guitar shop and a teenager is playing Spoon Man by Soundgarden on an SG. I was a teenager when that song came out and remember jamming to that in my bedroom and with friends. The kids are alright 😂

  • How are there no Dr. Z amplifier dealers in Oregon?

  • Got my locked and dead car opened up and the battery on a charger. Battery had died last weekend bc my 4 year old turned on a dome light and I hadn’t needed the car so I just left it.

    Key slot was jammed up, too, because I never use it. But lots of silicon lubricant later, I’m in.

    Felt like a thief in my hoodie in the pouring rain trying to break into my own car! Heh

  • My first disappointment with is that there’s no filter for media on profile pages. One of my favorite features of the official Mastodon app.

  • I’m having one of those very rare days where my wife is away with both kids but I’m having trouble getting motivated to do anything because it’s raining pretty good and I’m just soaking up the silence.

  • When you save a meme with Jesus in it and Google Photos asks if your deceased brother and Jesus are the same person.

  • Is there anyone whose voice you heard for the first time just absolutely threw you? For me, it was Jimmy Page, guitarist for Led Zeppelin. I dunno what I was expecting, but it wasn’t that.
