It’s wild that I went so many years thinking Portland didn’t have any decent radio stations simply because PRP’s signal is so weak. Sometimes when I’m milling about Metro #Portland I think about how shoddy some of the suburban construction is and imagine how absolutely fucked we’d be if we had some big employers evaporate like Detroit did a few decades ago (ahem, #intel *cough*). At least a lot of the building stock in #Detroit was made of super high quality materials. The amount of T-111 sided 1980s boom-time tract housing in the #pdx area is wild, and it would be absolutely eviscerated.

We’ve been looking at real estate a little bit. I don’t understand how people afford Multnomah County property taxes. It’s gotta be one of the highest property tax burdens in the country. In some cases, the monthly property tax payment would be as high as our PITI in Washington County. #pdx #realestate

At Kaiser Permanente in Beaverton bc my kid cut the webbing on his thumb with a tape measure. Already been here an hour and they say it’s going to be 2 more hours before he can see a doctor and maybe get stitches. Brought my #Fender Jazzmaster into Portland Music Company yesterday. It desperately needed a setup and the jack needed some soldering done. Had fun looking around at all the different guitars, amps, banjos, etc. Reminded me of my days in Lansing after college when I’d spend my lunch breaks at Elderly Instruments in Old Town. It’s amazing how many people I meet all across the U.S. who used to receive their guitar lists and catalogs. #pdx #lansing #guitars

I’ve been keeping an eye on the housing market in metro Portland and I don’t think prices are going down much at all. Just a gut feeling, but it kind of looks like realtors are setting initial prices higher than normal and then reducing them to look like a real reduction. #pdx #housing #interestrates
