While I haven’t been keeping up with it as much as I’d like, I wrote another piece for my blog titled [The Myth of the Corner Store](https://lowvelocity.org/the-myth-of-the-corner-store/). Greatly appreciate any feedback as I work to improve my writing in this format. #urbanism

Environmental psychology is the study of how the natural and built environments shape us as individuals.
I find it fascinating that much of the real world implementation of this field’s findings has been used to influence customer decisions within the context of retail shopping.
I see the planning field use some similar concepts when talking about “placemaking,” but I don’t feel like this is very fleshed out. I think EP needs more recognition in planning. #urbanism #urbanplanning

I wish Redfin took better care of Walkscore.com after buying it. I remember being so excited about the idea 10 years ago. Not only does it look like the site has never been updated, I’m told the data is only updated every 6 months. It seems much staler than that in my area. #walkscore #walkability #realestate #planning #housing #urbanism #redfin

Anyone thinking about going to the APA conference in Philadelphia this year? I’m interested in going, mostly because I’ve never been to Philly before and I like the project related conference tours, but I’m also kinda scared to ask if we have the budget for cross-country travel. Someone give me a marketable excuse 🙂 #urbanplanning #architects #urbanplanners #urbanism #cities #philadelphia #npc23
